Light beams with phase singularities or other strong spatial inhomogeneities produce on matter effects that reveal new basic physics, and may in the near future result on applications in information technology, sprintronics, nanotechnology, etc. I focus primarily on the theoretical description of the interaction of strongly inhomogeneous beams with solid state systems, either bulk or nanostructured, and explore possible applications. All by actively collaborating with theoreticians and experimentalists around the world.
My career started in my homeland Argentina, where I first got a Licenciatura in Physics degree at Universidad de Buenos Aires. Afterwards I moved to the USA, and completed a Master and PHD degrees at Michigan State University. To gain postdoctoral experience I worked for about 4 years at several Universities in Argentina, Canada, Germany, and the USA. I settled in Ciudad de Corrientes, Argentina, where I hold a full Professor position at Universidad Nacional del Nordeste.
