1 Introduction

AMD ScaLAPACK is an extension to the AMD Core Math Library (ACML) to provide support for solving dense linear algebra calculations using the distributed-memory parallel computing model. The contents are:

Full documentation for the ScaLAPACK and BLACS are available online. This manual will, therefore, be restricted to providing brief descriptions of the ScaLAPACK and BLACS and providing links to their documentation and other materials (see ScaLAPACK, see BLACS).

ScaLAPACK and BLACS use MPI for communication between processors. Information on how to obtain an MPI library is given in see Obtaining an MPI library.

The numbering scheme of this AMD build of ScaLAPACK corresponds to the ACML version it is designed to be used with, and by default it will be installed in the same directory path as ACML.
